WINDSOR, Colo. — Northern Colorado Rain FC announce that defender Sam Corrie will return to the squad for the 2026 WPSL season.
Corrie is the reigning WPSL Rockies Division Defender of the Year after helping Rain to the division title in 2025.
“I can’t wait to return to the Rain,” Corrie said. “To be surrounded by talented players, hard-working coaches, and such a competitive environment. Last summer was a highlight of my year, and I’m already counting down the days.”
Corrie started all eight matches for the Rain in 2025, helping the team concede just five goals and keep four clean sheets throughout the season en route to her Defender of the Year honor.
“Sam had a great year last year earning Defensive Player of the Year,” Rain head coach Kelly Brown said. “We are excited she is coming back and look forward to her composure and leadership in the back line. She always finds a way to make training hard fun.”
Corrie played seven matches with New Mexico this past fall, earning three starts. She also recorded an assist in an 8-0 win over Texas Southern in August.
Prior to joining the Lobos, she won a Big Ten regular season championship and advanced to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament with Nebraska in 2023. She also has experience in her native England with Southampton FC.
