WINDSOR, Colo. — Northern Colorado Rain FC announce that forward Amy Smith will join the roster for the upcoming 2025 WPSL season.
Smith played her freshman season at LSU in 2024, playing 18 times and making six starts for the Tigers. She scored two goals, including LSU’s only goal in a 2-1 loss to Texas Tech in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
“Amy is another standout Northern Colorado player and I could not be more excited to see her in a Rain jersey this summer,” Rain head coach Kelly Brown said. “She sets a high bar for herself and wants to do everything she can to be the absolute best. We know we can provide that level of training for her so I am excited to see what she will do with it. She is going to take Rain to a new level.”
Last summer, Smith played with Colorado Storm in the USL W League, scoring four goals en route to a Mountain Division title and national runner-up finish.
Prior to her collegiate career, Smith was a second team all-state selection at Fossil Ridge High School in Fort Collins, and she will now return to northern Colorado to play for the Rain this summer.
“I am excited to join Rain and have great training environments and top coaching, all next to my hometown,” Smith said.
