WINDSOR, Colo. — Northern Colorado Rain FC announce that defender Dani Nelson has committed to the team for the 2024 season.
Nelson played collegiately at MSU Denver. She started 18 games for the Roadrunners in 2023, ranking fourth on the team in minutes played among outfield players.
She was also the MSU Denver captain during the 2023 season.
“Dani’s tough as nails,” Rain FC head coach Kelly Brown. “I love having her in the back line, just with her confidence, her tenacity, and her all-out grit.”
Nelson had a goal and four assists in her career with the Roadrunners, playing in 57 matches, including one at goalkeeper.
She said she is thrilled for the opportunity to play for the Rain.
“I grew up in Erie and was very excited to hear that a women’s team was finally coming to Northern Colorado,” Nelson said. “I am excited to stay close to home this summer and represent the area where I grew up. I have also known Coach Kelly for several years now and was very excited to have the opportunity to have her as a coach.”
