WINDSOR, Colo. — Northern Colorado Rain FC announce that forward Abby Ballek will return to the team for the 2025 season.
Ballek made just one appearance for the Rain last season, starting the club’s inaugural match and scoring in the 33rd minute.
“Abby is back and we are looking forward to seeing her score some big time goals,” Rain head coach Kelly Brown said. “We lost her early last year to a knee injury, so we’re excited for a full season with such a threat up top.”
Ballek has committed to play collegiately at the University of Wisconsin. She will join the Badgers for the 2025 season this fall.
During her career at Fossil Ridge High School in Fort Collins, Ballek was a three-time all-state selection and a Colorado Gatorade Player of the Year finalist, all before kicking off her senior season this spring.
She said she is excited to return to the Rain this summer, and hopefully have more luck than she did last season.
“My time last season was cut short by an injury but I am thrilled to return to NoCo Rain FC this year,” Ballek said. “The coaches, professional atmosphere, and being able to train with such talented players is so exciting. I can’t wait to see what we can achieve together this season.”
