WINDSOR, Colo. — Northern Colorado Rain FC announces that forward Nicole Ray has been aded to the roster for the 2024 USL W League season.
Ray plays her college soccer in the Big 12 at Oklahoma State University, where she transferred from WAC power Utah Valley after the 2022 season.
“Nicole has always been a serious athlete who is always looking to push herself by putting herself in environments with other talented players,” Rain FC head coach Kelly Brown said. “She wants to win and she absolutely loves the game. Her creativity and strength on the ball will earn her some big time respect in the league. She’s a fun player to watch and will score some goals this year.”
Ray scored a pair of goals in 11 games for the Cowgirls in 2023, helping OSU to a 12-8 record and a 5-5 mark in conference play.
Before joining OSU, Ray made a pair of NCAA tournament appearances with Utah Valley and earned a place on the 2021 WAC All-Freshman team, scoring five goals in 22 games for the Wolverines that season. She was also the Utah 6A MVP in high school in 2018.
Ray said she is excited to compete with the Rain in the upcoming season.
“The coaches want to cultivate a competitive environment where we can develop as players over the summer, and that’s exactly what I’m looking for,” Ray said.
