WINDSOR, Colo. — Northern Colorado Rain FC announce the addition of goalkeeper Haven Empey for the 2024 season.
Empey has played at Brigham Young University for the past three seasons, joining the Cougars on runs to the NCAA semifinals in 2023 and the final in 2021.
“Haven is the full package,” Rain head coach Kelly Brown said. “She’s competitive, extremely talented, charismatic, hard-working, and an absolute first-class human being.”
Prior to her college career, Empey was Utah’s Gatorade Player of the Year in 2020 and helped her team at American Fork High School to a pair of 6A state championships.
“Haven embodies everything we will strive for at the Rain, she wants to be the best, play for the best, and compete against the best. She will lead this program to the greatest heights and inspire so many young players along the way,” Brown said.
Empey previously played for Brown as part of the Olympic Development Program, making three regional all-tournament teams, and said she is excited to come play for her former coach again with the Rain.
“I chose to play for rain to be a part of something bigger,” Empey said. “To represent more than just the beautiful game, but also a driven, united community, and play with and against some of the best players in the country underneath a talented coach who’s potential to grow this program is unmatched.”
